Located in the heart of the beautiful Fingerlakes of Upstate New York, Newell Farm is about teaching Natural Horsemanship based on Leadership, Equine Language, and Softness!!! Clinics and lessons help you understand WHY you should learn it...Why your horse NEEDS you to know it! With these basics you can do anything your horse is physically capable of!!!!
Stasia Newell, a lifelong horsewoman, has taught horsemanship skills at clinics in Argentina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and of course, locally. Raised riding and driving Quarter Horses, Stasia's interest in Endurance and Competitive Trail Riding brought Arabians and crossbreds to Newell Farm. She has enjoyed both distance riding and dressage with them. Competitive Trail Rides have brought her many Horsemanship Awards, with her own horses as well as those she has ridden for others. Stasia truly enjoys working with all breeds of horses and has competed on many different breeds in distance riding. From draft breeds to gaited horses and everything in between, Stasia finds every horse unique and fun to be around.
Stasia is also certified in Equine Sports Massage, from Equissage in Virginia. She has been massaging horses for over twelve years and it has played a valuable role in training and performance. Many horses that are labeled difficult or have training issues can and do have physical issues that need to be addressed. Stasia works to insure wellbeing in the horse, to allow confident learning to take place. For the rider, Stasia understands and works on balanced and resistance free riding. Balanced riding is key to efficient performance in your horse, and confidence for yourself in the saddle.
coming from either direction on State Rte 79, turn onto County Rd 4 (Logan Rd.). Drive just over half a mile - First farmhouse on the RIGHT.
The farm is conveniently located next to the southern end of the Finger Lakes National Forest for access to miles of trails.
The unconditional love and joy they bring us for the time they are here make it worth the pain of losing such a friend.
Rest In Peace...

JACKIE ECK NEWELL - (1930-2013)
Having waited for a night of the full moon
in order to have a more perfect light,
Jackie Eck Newell left this world
for one with a better view.
We are sure that horses will be in the scene.
In these days of blurred lines and rules,
she always maintained her artist's eye
for conformation and correctness,
and most generally was unafraid to tell you so.
She will be missed by all,
and most especially, the horse community
which she so loved.
JACKIE NEWELL, the artist.......
